Beckwith - Getchell

Looking for marriage of Emma G. BECKWITH and Harry E. GETCHELL about 1901 or 1902. Their first born were twins Ray and Roy b June 14, 1902 aat Silver Creek, NE. The 1900 federal census shows Emma in the Beckwith household in Polk Co, Silver Creek Township. Harry died 18 Feb 1919 at Silver Creek. Emma married Charles LOWE and died St. Louis MO, July 1973 but is buried in the Silver Creek Cemetery.

BENNET - MUDGE - DIZNEY

Searching for info on MUDGE, BENNET and Dizney. I specifically am looking for husband of Clair Ellen Bennet came to Nebraska from Eng. about 1880 with two daughters, Helena and Jessie(?) Helena may have been a librarian, married Henry Mudge about 1889 and they homesteaded around Hordville. CREMEEN - YOUNGER I am looking for information on the parents of CHANCY Earl CREMEEN and his wife EDITH Alice YOUNGER. Chancy's parents were GEORGE W. CREMEEN and FLORA A. RIDLEY. Edith's parents were CALVIN YOUNGER and CORA HASTINGS. Chancy was born and raised in the Silver Creek and Osceola area of Polk County. I would like to know something about these people. HANKS/HENKS - ZOHNER/SUNER Seeking any info on grandparents; John HANKS or Henks born aprox 1850- Germany to John Hanks/Henks and Elizabeth POHLMUELLER. Lived in Columbus, Platte Co, NE. in 1913, also lived and perhaps died in Shelby, Polk Co, NE. Grandmother Mary ZOHNER or Suner, born aprox 1887- Austria near Prinzdorf. "High German". Sister Annie married to a HAKEL, either Ernest or Louie who moved to Grand Junction, CO. Most of family appeared to be farmers. Other related names are:RODERICK, BENDER, FILP/FILPS, possibly Anna Zohner WIENLICH. Spelling of ZOHNER differs: SUNER,SUNIR,SOEHNEL. I've been told old pronunciation was SUNA. My father, JOHN ALOYSUIS HANKS, was born June 30, 1914,in Columbus, Platte Co., NE. Younger brother, Herman.Both boys were taken away from the parents and sent to Father Flanagan's Boys Town in Omaha, NE July 5, 1922. His mother's address at the time was shown as Shelby,NE as well as Arlington, NE. I have other info, but guess this is a good start.

MOORE

Eri James MOORE, my great-grandfather, died in Osceola, Polk County, Nebraska on
14 May 1886. He was born 21 Jan 1817 in Ridgeway, New York. He died at the J.N.JAMES farm. I understand he was first buried in the Osceola area then later moved to another location. Any leads I can get on him will be much appreciated.

STROMSBURG ORPHANAGE - Frank Korn

Looking for information on an orphanage in Stromsburg in 1910/1920 operated by a Lutheran Church. My father Frank George KORN arrived there on an orphan train from New York City in Dec 1913. He went to live with Samuel and Hilda PETERSON from Swedeburg in Feb, 1914, and was legally adopted in 1920. I would like information concerning him or the orphanage.Alice Boettcher May 7, 1997

STUDLEY - MERRICK

I am interested in finding out about my ancestors who resided in Nebraska from the 1860's. Apparently my Grandfather was a rogue - at best - and has been a non entity throughout my life. He was Russel Alger STUDLEY - married in Osceola, NE about 1910 to my grandmother - Darlene Margaret MERRICK. They went to Omaha after their marriage. Her father was William Merrick, mother was Lulu Mary CORY (COREY). I would be particularly interested in information about the MERRICKS. (I have a long history of CORY) and Russell STUDLEY's lineage. WHEELER

My great,great grandfather settled in Polk Co, for a time. He was Robert WHEELER, c.1870-1880. Later became a district Judge around Lincoln?...and removed to Tecumseh, Okla. around 1900, where he lived until his death in 1937. Any info you can provide on his Polk Co. days would be appreciated. He was at first a farmer, then READ the law, and I believe was a partner with Albinus Nance,until Nance became Governor.
